For BCCT Standard #5 I wrote a lesson plan for maternelle that incorporates auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and social learning, and skills. My lesson plan is a good ground level to work. I am prepared to adapt my lesson strategy to incorporate the mood of the maternelle classroom on any given day.

Self-Reflection
Vancouver Island University has created a wonderful lesson plan template. It is clear and concise and includes all aspects for a teacher to cover.
Context of Outcomes
I learned while observing my sponsor teacher and writing this lesson plan that the lesson plan is a draft plan. As a new teacher I can not be fixated on following my lesson plan but must be aware of my surrounding students. Is my lesson working, or am I loosing their interest. As a new teacher I will be adaptable and flexible with my students, employing a variety of instructional and assessment strategies and ask for help from peers when the need arises.

Mock Report Card comments:
"Alex's eagerness to learn and smile are a pleasure in the class. Alex is writing and spelling at grade 2 level. Alex enjoys being the first to complete tasks. This can lead to rushing through work and missing finer details. When Alex did take his time, he created a detailed map of a town for our SS theme. Alex showed wonderful teamwork during our Hockey PE often passing the puck to team players. Alex has enjoyed being challenged during math, including a math maze he created and shared with peers. Alex is independently reading at grade level and enjoys sharing his connections to stories he has read. Please continue to read with Alex during the summer. To challenge Alex this summer you could give him 'math in a story' problem solving. I look forward to seeing Alex in the hallways next year."

Self-reflection and context to outcomes
This
is one example of an eight line mock report card I wrote for an
exceeding/meeting student. Writing mock report cards gave me the
concept and practice of being concise, direct, and kind with my
wording. I have considered and am prepared with my templates for
matrix planning, lesson planning with variety, and daily assessing
so I can efficiently report students marks with supportive back-up to defend my grading.
