Self-Reflection
Microsoft Works is a new tool for me that opens up opportunities to reach student's parents, peer teachers and community with an eNewsletter that is presented using a template. This template makes it easy for the readers to view in an aesthetic design. As a teacher I will need more practice using this new tool to make it an effortless and quick event.
Context of Outcomes
An eNewsletter is an up to date tool to keep communication open with families and the community. An inclusive environment is created where parents feel valued and helpful through volunteer positions posted on the eNewsletter. Parents will feel supported and can communicate effectively with their children about present topics being taught as indicated on my eNewsletter. Through creating this eNewsletter I have learned it's effectiveness and value for maintaining a connection with the parents and community throughout the school year.

Notes arrive with the student. I respond promptly either by replying on the note, photocopying it for my records, and returning it to the parent or guardian, or calling the person.
Self-reflection and context of outcomes
Replying
in an effective and timely manner to the parent or guardian is
necessary. I consider my actions in this context; 'If it were my
child, what would I want.' This has helped me through some situations
at school when I wasn't thinking on my toes. I switch my thoughts to
'what would I want, as a parent, for my child'. This has always
lead me to the correct action/intervention necessary. This approach
helps me respect and support the role of parents and the community in
the education of students.
