Artifact
For BCCT standard # 1 I used Photostory3 for an artifact to emphasize that I care for all students and act in their best interest. I would be happy to include a memory stick of my photostory3 for you to review. Due to the nature of my photostory, having children involved, I chose not to place it on YouTube to protect the privacy of those students, as Standard # 1 indicates. Here is one of two clips from my photostory. The 'teacher' is giving guidance to the parent whose child has missed a lot of school due to an illness the medical system can not define. The 'Mother' is very anxious and stressed for her daughter, but finds comfort in the teacher's support. When thanked, the teacher said 'Don't worry, this is my job.'
Artifact
In this second clip for my photostory3 the student, after a long struggle with illness, gets a diagnoses from her Doctor. The support she received from her family and her school helped this student become her vibrant self once again. To learn about photostory3 click here:http://tinyurl.com/ycaparu
Self-Reflection
Using photostory3 introduced me to a valuable tool to use in my classroom. This form of presentation allows me to censor content and pace appropriately for my class. The repetitive creating tactic of photostory3 has a rhythm easy to follow. Once in the rhythm, setting up slides is easy. Easy enough to introduce to students for a tool they can use both for assignments and fun.
Context of Outcomes
The story represented in the film is based on my real experience. Making a connection with that student and family was rewarding and a relief to hear a conclusion to her very real concerns. This experience made me understand the importance, as a teacher, of boundaries with students and parents and the importance of confidentiality while fostering the students emotional, intellectual, and physical development of students.
Artifact and self-reflection
This card was given to me by my sponsor teacher on my last day of grade 2 final practicum. I appreciate the time she took for this hand-written note while reflecting on our time together. My sponsor teacher wrote comments from some students. Translated into English the comments say:
"Dawn is the Queen of the class, she does all the work."
"Dawn is a very good teacher."
"I love Dawn. I don't want her to leave.
"Dawn is one of the best teachers."
"Dawn is so nice."

Context of outcomes
This class had several students that came from sensitive troubled pasts. The teacher chose 5 quotes from the students to write in her hand-written note. 3 of the 5 comments came from the students that required extra delicate care. Although expressed broken French, the comments indicate that they wanted me to stay. I believe these comments came because I made a point of connecting with student's emotional, esthetic, intellectual, physical, social and vocational development. While fostering connections with every student I treated everyone with respect and dignity.
